2025 marked the 100 year anniversary for Adventist Summer Camps in Victoria and the world.
What started as a small group of 20 people in 1925 has turned into a thriving ministry for young people to enjoy nature, grow in God and make friends.
While each camp offers a unique dynamic, they all prove to be transformative and inspire young people to make life-changing decisions. Amish writes “my time at Summer Camp was truly a perspective-changing experience. As a camper, I enjoyed the exciting activities like watersports and tubing. The supportive, Christ-centered staff helped foster an amazing atmosphere.”
“Later, as a counsellor, I found joy in leading my cabin in nightly devotions, playing in the worship band, and creating a personal connection with each child that I interacted with.”
This year saw over 100 campers chose to further their commitment to God by declaring they wanted to be baptised!
GAP Camper and Counsellor Mia said “I first came to summer camp after a friend told me about it and I loved it as a camper, the next year I came back as a staff member for Junior and Teen camp, It was so much fun and you really get to see God working.”
It’s inspiring to see the culture that has developed at Summer Camps over the last 100 years – through the dedication of our staff, the strength of our programs, and the relationships built at camp. We pray that this legacy will continue to thrive and impact the lives of young people across Victoria for generations to come.
A huge thank you to Camp Howqua, and all of our dedicated staff that help make this incredible ministry possible. We couldn’t do it without you!
Here’s to another 100 years of adventure, faith and transformation!
